چکیده
Acute Macular Neuro-retinopathy (AMN) is a rare clinical entity. We present case of 26 years old male who presented with one-week history sudden onset decrease vision in left eye associated paracentral scotomas. Dilated fundus examination the showed multiple reddish brownish petalloid para-foveal lesions apex pointing toward fovea. OCT hyper-reflective bands Outer Nuclear Layer and Plexiform along disruption ellipsoid zones. Amsler grid drawn by patient visual field scotoma corresponding to macular lesion. The cause turned out be undiagnosed essential hypertension. Purpose presenting this that High Definition Optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) makes diagnosis some conditions easy fast for an ophthalmologist, might misdiagnosed or missed conventional FFA imaging test.

Traumatic retinopathy presenting as acute macular neuroretinopathy.
AIM Traumatic retinopathy presenting as acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMNR) is an uncommon disease causing paracentral scotomas after indirect trauma. METHODS We report on five patients (six eyes) with AMNR with a temporary reduction of visual acuity and persistent paracentral scotomas after indirect trauma. The findings were documented using multimodal imaging and the follow-up was up to 3...

PURPOSE To evaluate the predictive ability of macular parameters defined in the significance map created using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) for paracentral visual field defects in early glaucoma. DESIGN Prospective comparative study. METHODS We studied 78 early-glaucomatous eyes of 78 patients, who underwent SD-OCT and standard automated perimetry 10-2. Macular laye...
متن کاملReading with a macular scotoma. I. Retinal location of scotoma and fixation area.
To investigate how patients with macular scotomas use residual functional retinal areas to inspect visual detail, a scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) was used to map the retinal locations of scotomas and areas used to fixate. Three patients with dense macular scotomas of at least 20 months duration and with no explicit low vision training were tested. SLO stimuli were produced by computer mod...

متن کاملPreferred retinal loci and macular scotoma characteristics in patients with age-related macular degeneration.
Many patients with macular scotomas due to age-related macular degeneration do not perceive black spots in the visual field where the scotomas are located. Rather, they describe objects as "vanishing," "jumping out of nowhere" or "having blurry parts," or a combination of features. In addition, when the macular scotoma affects the fovea, the visual system uses 1 or more preferred retinal loci (...
